Dare to be Different Detail, is a small scale section of the large scale work, Dare to be Different. The image is inspired by a research trip to Japan with Design Factory in 2006. I saw these people on the tube train in the Tokyo underground. They were all dressed in black, in my head all I could see was pink kimono. I decided that I would reinterpret the scene using Japanese inspired prints and Kimono fabrics, in honour of the rich tradition of Japanese textiles. This piece is available to commission.
