Dare to be Different, is part of the Japan Collection. The image is inspired by a research trip to Japan with Design Factory in 2006. I saw these people on the tube train in Tokyo’s underground. They were all dressed in black, in my head all I could see was pink kimono. I decided that I would reinterpret the scene using Japanese inspired prints and Kimono fabrics, in honour of the rich tradition of Japanese textiles. This scaled version of the full size piece is now owned by a UK based collector. This piece is available to commission. A combination of similar and different fabrics will be used to create a unique artwork. Please call or email for price and delivery information.
