In March 2007 Design Factory, in partnership with Arts Council England, East Midlands and UK Trade & Investment, delivered a research trip to Japan, British Crafts in Japan.  There was the opportunity selected delegates to showcase their work in a 5 day exhibition which took place at The Ozone Design Centre, Tokyo.

The aim of the trip was to support designers to explore the opportunities for commercial success in the Japanese market and to gain a better understanding of the business and creative culture of Japan. Activities such as a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event, retail tours, studio visits and meetings were organised with agents and buyers for the Japanese market.

This was my second time to be selected for the mission and I had the chance to exhibit the Japanese inspired artwork that I had researched for on the previous years trip. exhibited work included Dare to be different, Blossoms and Phone (large), Tokyo Taxi and A day in Tokyo with Mr Noguchi.
